Harvest International Auger Features

Trailer Full of Augers

General Features of Our Augers

Workmanship.
Check out the workmanship on all HARVEST International augers. Precision laser cuts. Welds that look like they were made by robots. No slag, no wire ends, no beads left over. Our augers are constructed with skill, care, and pride. It shows! Compare the workmanship of a HARVEST International auger to any others on the market.

Powder Coating.
Powder Coating is superior to painting. After the steel parts are thoroughly cleaned and dried, the powder is uniformly applied. The final process is time spent in the bake oven. The powder thickness is precisely controlled so the result is years of metal protection from the elements and a smooth, attractive finish.
Powerder Coating A Part
Warranty.
HARVEST International Augers have the best warranty in the business. One full year on the PTO Shaft and gearboxes and two full years on all other parts as well as material and workmanship.

Made in Iowa.
An auger factory, in the Heart of the Cornbelt-Cherokee, Iowa. Lower freight costs and quicker response times are just two potential advantages of a factory in Iowa. Our lead engineer is an Iowa native and farmer, too! He knows what features farmers want in an auger.

Specific Features

Some more specifice features of our augers include information about:
Auger FlightingAuger Flighting.
Every inch of our auger flighting is Iron Edge Flighting. Thicker flighting lasts longer, period! We use Iron Edge on our Swing Hopper flighting, our incline auger flighting, and along the entire length of our main auger flighting.
Auger Flighting SpacingFlighting Spacing.
Every HARVEST International auger utilizes flighting with 7" spacing at the intake end of our auger. This spacing is pitched forward. Both of these flighting features serve to move grain away from the intake quickly and efficiently and into the main tube. This 7" spaced flighting is also Iron Edge flighting and is 5/16" thick for extended wear. Our main auger uses Iron Edge flighting on 9" spacing with a 3/16" thickness on out 10" and 1/4" on our 13" augers.

Truss Cables on a Harvest AugerTruss Cables.
We use 3/8" galvanized cable on our 10" augers and 1/2" galvanized cable on our 13" augers. With the exception of the initial attachment point, which is a 1/4 " plate bracket welded to the tube, all attachments are made at the angle rings-the strongest points on the tubing. We don't weld on or clamp on more brackets to attach the truss cables nor do we loop them around the tubing. All cable attachments are at the strongest points.
All Augers get new Highway Rated TiresHighway Travel.
All our augers come with new, highway rated tires. We use cast iron hubs that are bolted, not welded, to the axle. The 10" augers have 5 bolt hubs, the 13" augers have 6 bolt hubs.
Auger Discharge HeadDischarge Head.
Another unique feature of HARVEST International augers is our top end. Many companies just weld a flat cap on the end of their tube, install a bearing outside the cap, and call it good. We bolt a substantial Discharge Head to the end of our tube. It not only provides a better way to intstall the top bearing but it also allows for a strong, round spout from which to discharge grain and attach accessories as necessary. Our Discharge Head also has built -in overflow protection.

Cast Iron Hub with Tapered Bearings.
The entire length of our flighting is held at the top end of our auger. We use two tapered bearings and a cast iron hub arrangement which is engineered for this kind of force. Both of the tapered bearings can be lubricated through a grease zerk on the end. This design can significantly extend bearing life. The flange bearing at the bottom end of our auger has no axial force on it. It is there simply to keep the shaft centered.

Hyrdrolic Scissor Lift Hydraulic Scissors Lift.
Our hydraulic scissors lift has an extended reach compared to other types of lift systems. Our hydraulic scissors lift uses no cables so there is never a safety concern as can happen with frayed, crimped, or broken cables. Our hydraulic scissors lift is built using a simple, strong design to provide a smooth raising and lowering action. We use larger hydraulic cylinders to keep operating pressure lower. All hydraulic cylinders have a built-in safety check valve. If a hose were to burst, the check valve locks the cylinder in place. Once the hose is repaired and pressure is restored the valve releases the cylinder for normal use. Additionally, the cylinder can be isolated from the tractor to prevent settling when not in use.

Auger Intake Head Intake Head.
Our intake head is built stronger than most for years of service. Inside, we utilize a steel cone to deflect the grain away from the seal in the lower gearbox for extended life. We use only heavy duty PTO shafts with CV joints in our system.
